Terms of Service

Rooted is a baby name decision workspace for adults. You can use it to complete a Story, receive personalized name matches, save a Shortlist, compare choices with a partner, ask trusted people for feedback, and purchase or generate deeper Shortlist Reports.

You are responsible for keeping your account access secure and for the information you choose to enter, save, or share.

Rooted provides generated name meanings, histories, cultural context, pronunciation guidance, recommendations, previews, and reports. This content is intended to support your decision, not to replace your own research.

• Generated content may contain mistakes or simplifications.
• Cultural, religious, family, legal, and linguistic details should be verified independently before a final decision.
• Rooted does not provide legal, medical, genealogical, religious, or professional advice.

• Premium features are available through a paid subscription.
• Subscriptions are billed by Stripe and can be managed through the Stripe customer portal.
• One-time Shortlist Reports are digital goods tied to the account and name used at purchase.
• Prices and available features may change, but active users will see pricing before checkout.

Compare invites, Ask links, and shared report links are intended for people you choose to involve. Anyone with a valid public share link may be able to open it, respond, comment, or view shared report content, depending on the feature.

Do not share links with people who should not see the names, comments, or family context connected to that item.

• Do not use Rooted to harass, abuse, threaten, or mislead others.
• Do not attempt to interfere with authentication, payments, or platform security.
• Do not scrape, copy, or republish substantial parts of the product or catalog without permission.
• Do not submit content that infringes another person's rights or privacy.

Rooted is an early-stage product. Features may change as the product is tested and improved. We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

You can delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes Rooted app data and authentication records tied to your account. If a Stripe billing record exists, Rooted attempts to delete the Stripe Customer or cancel the Stripe subscription before deleting app data. Payment records may remain with Stripe where required for financial, tax, or legal reasons.
